Bachelor of Science in Agrotechnology (Aquaculture)



Admission Requirements


General University’s Requirements

Passed in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or equivalent with a minimum of credit (Grade C) in Malay Language or credit in Malay Language July Paper.

and

Passed in Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum:
i. Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in General Study; and
ii. Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in two other subjects.

or

Passed KPM Matriculation/ UM Fundamental Science / UiTM Fundamental with a minimum of PNGK 2.00

and

Obtain a minimum of Band 1 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET)

Special University’s Requirements

Obtain a minimum of C Grade (NGMP 2.00) at STPM level in one of the following subjects :

•Biology
•Physics/ Physics Engineering
•Chemistry/ Chemistry Engineering
•Mathematics/ Mathematics Engineering or Additional Mathematics/Advanced

or

Obtain a minimum of C Grade (NGMP 2.00) at Matriculation/Fundamental level in any one of the following subjects :

•Biology
•Physics/ Physics Engineering
•Chemistry/ Chemistry Engineering
•Mathematics/ Mathematics Engineering or Additional Mathematics/Advanced

Program Aims


To produce knowledgeable and skillful graduates in the aspects of fisheries in general, and aquaculture in particular who are competent, outstanding, professional, possess entrepreneur skill and catalyze the progressive development of human capital as well as environmental sustainability in the aquaculture sectors and products.

Learning Outcomes


At the end of this program, graduates are able to:

1.Explain the basic knowledge in aquaculture,

2.Explain and apply various disciplines in aquaculture, such as seed production,

culture, processing of aquaculture products and aquaculture network management,

3.Explain and apply practical techniques relevant to the the field of aquaculture,

4.Apply principles of management, law and statistics in the field of aquaculture,

5.Apply, integrate and evaluate the principles of science and technology related to aquaculture in the laboratory and field,

6.Identify opportunities as competitive entrepreneurs,

7.Communicate effectively and able to present technical information effectively either orally and in writing,

8.Work independently and in groups,

9.Apply problem-solving skills in terms of theory and practical in different situations,

10.Practice the moral values and able to explain the economic, environmental and sociocultural effects in professional manner,

11.Find and manage information as well as able to practice self-learning

12.Lead a group effectively.
