UMT steered some of the latest facilities including various high specification of science laboratories especially in marine and aquaculture field. These well equipped laboratories provide students the opportunity to learn, observe, practice, explore and solve problems throughout their studies.
UMT boasts off some of the latest facilities in ship and boats offering. Recently, UMT has launched a RM16 million research vessel with high specification engineering and fully equipped with mini science laboratories for both dry and wet vessel named RV Discoveries. There are also daily used boats and ship of various sizes to facilitate students’ research and sampling activities in the sea, or even in any other freshwater environments.
This main library provides a variety of services and facilities such as auditorium, 24-hour room, carrel rooms, discussion room, viewing room, teleconferencing rooms, multimedia training laboratory, meeting rooms, leisure rooms, prayer rooms, post graduate lounge, library square, main reading area, light reading area, exhibition areas & UMT gallery, self check machines, e-lockers and wireless facility/hot spot for internet access. In addition, there are 60 local and international journals both printed and online for students access.
The auditorium is located on the first floor, equipped with PA system and campus wide computer networks. It can easily accommodate 220 people and suitable for activities like talks, workshops and seminars.
24-hour rooms are located on the ground floor, which provides reading area for about 100 people. The room is only available after the library is closed for students to continue study but will be only opened during the examination period. The library provides 26 carrel rooms on the second floor mainly for academic staffs, postgraduate and final year undergraduate students. There are 15 discussion rooms and three viewing rooms available in the library. Students and staff can use these rooms and reservation can be made online.

UMT co-curriculum and sport centre was set up to create a physical and spiritual balance and holistic education for the students. The centre promotes active life style through sport activities and at the same time incorporate and inculcates leadership qualities, discipline, organisational skills and teamwork. For students who have keen interest in sports, these centres provide space and opportunities for them to discover and develop their talents to their potential.
